A CONVERSATION STANDING ROOM ONLY
STANDING ROOM ONLY
I wanna live a life like a dollar and the clock on the wall don't own me
Shine a light like mama's front porch when I'm lost and lonely
Start forgivin' and start forgettin'
Be somebody that's worth rememberin'
Live a life so when I die
There's standing room only.
Recently I heard the song “Standing Room Only” by Tim McGraw, and the lyrics really hit me. About having a packed funeral because so many people loved you.
You could have all the money, cars, planes, associates, and power in the world…but if nobody came to your funeral, was it worth it?
I don’t think so.
I believe the purpose of life is to grow and give. Yes, accumulating wealth and assets is a great way to grow, but if we don’t also intentionally focus on giving and touching the lives of those around us, then we could spend our whole lives collecting everything only to lose it all the day we die.
Plus, if we didn’t make an impact or any kind of difference during our lifetime, then what was the point of living in the first place?
I’d much rather be the man with zero dollars and impacted a million lives, than the man with a million dollars and impacted zero lives.
